Hope Women’s Center opens its doors
The Hope Women’s Center had their much-anticipated ribbon cutting this past weekend.
The muggy conditions Saturday morning didn’t stop Coolidge mayor Tom Shope and Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles from helping the Hope Women’s Center and their guests celebrate the grand opening.
The Hope Women’s Center is a non-profit center for women and has been a part of Pinal County for over 25 years. The center was originally located in Apache Junction, and is a welcome site for the Coolidge community.
“We’re happy to have you here and feel like this is wonderful thing for Coolidge,” Mayor Shope said.
The growing need combined with the appropriate location made Coolidge the perfect spot for the Hope Women’s Center.
The center serves women of all ages who struggle with crisis pregnancies, domestic violence and drug addiction.
“We are in Coolidge to meet the needs of local at-risk women,” Center Manager Jolyn Logan explained. “Making a difference in the lives of women and their families requires the help of the entire community.”
The county attorney also echoed the excitement over the Hope Women’s Center opening up in Coolidge.
Voyles was on hand to donate a check for $8,960 to the center from the RICO Community Outreach Fund.  RICO funds come from law enforcement work where assets are forfeited by criminals and then used in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
“When we get money back from the criminals it’s even more rewarding to give it back to the communities and programs that need it,” Voyles said.
The Hope Women’s Center also offers classes ranging from prenatal care, child training, parenting, substance abuse and abstinence to name a few. The Coolidge location will begin by offering classes in parenting and chemical dependency in the form of support groups as well according to Logan.
The Coolidge center hopes to expand its classes and hours of operation each month they are open.
Hope Women’s Center is a 501c3 organization with a Tax ID  #86-0668354, for anyone wanting to make tax-deductible donations. The center is located at 850 N. California St. You can reach the Hope Women’s Center at (520) 723-8888.
