FLORENCE, AZ (4/14/14) – On Monday, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles announced Jorge Molina, 27 of San Tan Valley, was found guilty of four counts of sexually related charges against two minors.

An investigation into child abuse began on Jan. 26, 2013, when the two minors, aged 5 and 8, courageously informed an adult of what they believed was inappropriate behavior and the adult reported the crime to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Forensic interviewers, at the Pinal County Attorney’s Office Family Advocacy Center, located in Eloy, AZ, learned that Molina sexually abused the children for over a one year period, while their mother was at work.

On Feb. 8, 2013, following the forensic interviews and after the investigative stage, Molina was arrested and the Pinal County Attorney’s Office charged Molina with two counts of Child Molestation with a child under the age of 15 and two counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, under the age of 15.

On Friday, Apr. 11, after a three-day trial, the 12-person jury deliberated for 20 minutes before returning guilty verdicts on all four counts.

The two counts of Sexual Conduct carry two consecutive life terms with a chance of parole after 35-years and the Child Molestation charges range from 10 to 24 years, which may run concurrently.  A sentencing hearing for Molina has been scheduled for May 12, at 1:30 pm before Honorable Judge Raymond.

Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles stated, “This conviction protects these two young girls, from this sexual predator, for the rest of their lives. I thank Sheriff Paul Babeu and PCSO because through hard work and dedication, we accomplished this successful prosecution of Jorge Molina, a dangerous, sexual offender. This is a prime example of the effectiveness of our Family Advocacy Center and, yet again, another reason for the advocacy center that we are working on in San Tan Valley.”
