The Crime Prevention Vehicle was an idea put together by the Community Resource Unit of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. The CRU came up with an idea to catch the eye of children through Crime Prevention and raised money to put together a 2003 Ford Explorer fully-loaded with six television monitors, four 15-inch speakers in the door panels, 1800 watts of amps with woof speakers, and a new paint job, along with new rims and tires for the kids to climb in and watch crime prevention videos and get to know the deputies with the help of the vehicle. The vehicle has a wireless microphone and is equipped with surround sound so that the kids can sing Karaoke. The vehicle is equipped with hand outs of crime prevention material for children.
