The Public Safety Communications Division of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is the vital link between our residents and visitors who require police service and our deputies who respond to those needs.
Communications Dispatchers utilize a highly technical phone system, radio and computer aided dispatch system to voice dispatch and manage response of sworn deputies and civilian support units to calls for service.
Our personnel work together to coordinate response services for PCSO deputies but also our partner municipal police agencies within our County.
The PCSO Communications Division, or Dispatch, consists of professional personnel who are highly trained to intake calls for service from internal and external customers and provide outstanding compassion and customer service.
- Communications Manager - coordinate and manage strategic and technical operations; manages schedules, staffing, and personnel issues; oversees projects and policy and performance management.
- Communications Supervisors – direct operations, shift scheduling; the connection between the deputies, sergeants and public and dispatchers; supervises and assigned shift and is first-line supervisor contact for an assigned crew of dispatchers.
- Dispatcher II – directs flow of radio traffic and field units through utilization of the CAD system and radio programs; perform driver, vehicle, weapons and various criminal history checks through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), for which the dispatchers are security cleared for use.
- Dispatcher I – answers incoming emergency and non-emergency, and administrative calls from internal and external customers; enters calls for service into the CAD system and answer routine questions for the Sheriff’s Office, this position also utilizes NCIC for all necessary criminal history and driver license checks.
