Florence, AZ – A Pinal County jury on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, found David Allen Becklehimer guilty of burglary in the third degree, a class 4 felony.
Becklehimer, 54, broke in the Presbyterian Church of Superior on Saturday, April 23, 2011 and was caught going through cabinets of the church’s basement area.
“Burglary is a serious crime whether it invades the sanctity of our homes or our places of worship,” said James P. Walsh, Pinal County Attorney. “To be safe from criminals at home, at work and at prayer is the expectation of all Pinal County residents. My office fights hard to protect that right.”
Becklehimer was discovered in the basement of the building by a church volunteer who was going to set up for Easter breakfast. Police were called and arrested Becklehimer.
Deputy Pinal County Ron Harris prosecuted the case.
Becklehimer ‘s sentencing is scheduled for June 5, 2012 before Judge Rudy Georgini at the Pinal County Superior Court in Florence.
