PC jury finds Casa Grande resident guilty of drug charges

Florence, AZ – A Pinal County Jury on Friday found Elisha Robert Edwards, guilty of one count of possession of methamphetamine a dangerous drug for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, two charges of misconduct involving weapons.

 

“I am proud of law enforcement, our prosecutors and the courts for protecting our families by getting the purveyors of poison like methamphetamine off of our streets,” said James P. Walsh, Pinal County Attorney and Pinal County Substance Abuse Council Chairman. “We are going to fight against illegal, dangerous drugs in every community in the county.”

 

Edwards was arrested on Oct. 26, 2010 during a probation search of a residence he was visiting.

 

The one count of possession of methamphetamine a dangerous drug for sale is class 2 felony, possession of drug paraphernalia a class 6 felony, two charges of misconduct involving weapons both class 4 felonies.

 

The jury also found the presence of the children in the back seat and possession of drugs with an accomplice were aggravating factors against Edwards.

 

Edwards‘ sentencing will take place once on June 26, 2012, in Pinal County Superior Court in front of Judge Joseph Georgini.
