Florence, AZ – A Pinal County Jury on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, found Tiffany Pesina, guilty of one count of possession of marijuana for sale, and one count of transportation of marijuana for sale. Pesina failed to appear for the trial and she was found guilty in absentia.
“The fight against drugs is never ending; we will continue to wage it every day,” said James P. Walsh, Pinal County Attorney and Pinal County Substance Abuse Council Chairman. “Drug dealers better think twice before deciding to sell drugs in our county.”
Pesina, 23, was arrested on Feb. 20, 2011 after a high-speed chase near the city of Florence. She was the passenger of a car loaded with 105 pounds of marijuana. The driver, Jesus Arreola, 27, was convicted in August 2011. He was sentenced to three years in prison and seven years probation once he is released from prison.
The one count of possession of marijuana for sale is class 2 felony, one count of transportation of marijuana a class 2 felony also.
Pesina‘s sentencing will take place once she is apprehended.
