Volunteers are needed to serve victims of crime

Florence, AZ – The Pinal County Attorney’s Office Community Services Division will launch a volunteer program this week and is looking for volunteers to serve victims of crime in our communities.

 

The Victim Services Unit will begin recruiting volunteers throughout the county immediately and will hold open house events at:

 

Pinal County Attorney’s Office

Community Services Building

45 North Florence Street, Florence, AZ

-       Tuesday, July 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

-       Wednesday July 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Pinal County Attorney’s Office

Family Advocacy Center

4045 West Coolidge Avenue, Eloy. 

-       Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

 

If you plan to attend please bring with you a photo identification card and be prepared to fill out an application. Each applicant will undergo a background investigation as they will be volunteering for the County Attorney’s Office, a law enforcement agency.

 

Volunteers will be asked to make a commitment of giving a minimum of 16 hours a month and will required to attend 40 hours of training this summer. The volunteers will be assisting in a variety of positions. Such positions are:

 

-       Victim advocate assistant daytime and evening

-       Office support tasks

-       Notification assistant

-       Play/care volunteer

 

The first training class is set to begin on July 30, 2012.
