11/29/2011

Florence, AZ – Wilbert Lee Tyler, 30, was sentenced today to two consecutive 12-year terms in prison for two counts of Phencyclidine (PCP) sales in Casa Grande. Tyler plead guilty to these counts last summer.

The sentencing was based on a plea agreement reached last summer.

“I commend our prosecutors for their hard work to finish the prosecution of cases from Operation Fertile Ground,” said James P. Walsh, Pinal County Attorney and Pinal County Substance Abuse Council Chairman. “I want to take this opportunity to renew our commitment to ridding our communities from the blight of narcotics.”

This case was part of Operation Fertile Ground that brought 25 people to justice in connection with drug sales in Pinal County.

Tyler was also ordered to pay a $4,000 mandatory drug fine.

Tyler is already serving a five-year prison term for drug offences committed in Maricopa County and was on probation for, when he committed his crimes in Pinal County.
