Wendy Petersen has practiced law for over 25 years, specializing in the area of employment law for the last 15 years. Ms. Petersen represented various Departments of Pinal County (and previously Pima County) with special concentration in advising the Pinal and Pima County Sheriffs. Ms. Petersen has also been a member of Arizona Law Enforcement Legal Advisors Association. She is a member of the State Bars of Texas and Arizona and has practiced law in both the public and private arenas with a focus on litigation, training and advising governmental clients. She is a Tucson native who received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She worked in Washington, D.C. as a college intern for Arizona Congressman Mo Udall in 1979 and in Mr. Udall’s Tucson congressional office in 1980 and 1981. She was the Chair of the Loshe YMCA Board of Directors and a volunteer tutor for the Lawyers for Literacy program with the Pima County Bar association. Ms. Petersen moved from Pima County to Pinal County in September of 2010 and is serving as Pinal County Human Resources Director as of January 1, 2012. She is married to Deputy Pima County Attorney Harlan Agnew.
