The Office of Internal Audit reports directly to the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.  The Office was established in 2008, and is responsible for the identification and assessment of financial and operational risks for county departments and offices.  The Office performs financial, compliance and performance audits, with the overall objective of improving efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of operations.  The Office assists the County Board of Supervisors, County Officials, and County management, by providing an unbiased, independent review and analysis of policies, procedures and practices; and if needed, provides reasonable and effective recommendations for improvements. 

The Office of Internal Audit also assists in the managment of reports made to the Pinal County Fraud Hotline.
