PROCESS AND PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING CERTIFICATION AS A PRIVATE PROCESS SERVER
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS BELOW PRIOR TO APPLYING
This information is to prepare and assist you in acquiring your Private Process Server Certification
Schedule an Appointment
- Applicant is required to call and schedule an appointment. Processing of application and testing is held on the following days and times:

- To schedule an appointment please call: 520-866-5300. Please do not leave a message you must speak to a clerk to schedule the appointment.
- Applicant must have an appointment to submit application and complete the examination/test.
Requirements for Obtaining Certification as a Private Process Server
- Applicant is required to be a resident of Pinal County to apply and test in Pinal County Superior Court.
- The application must be filled out in full and notarized prior to submitting to the Superior Court for processing.
- Two (2) passport photos are required. Passport photos may be obtained at any Walgreens, Wal-Mart, or Costco locations.

- The $196.00 fee may be paid by cash, money order, credit card, Visa/MasterCard, personal check with card holder/check holder’s valid ID. Checks and Money Orders are to be made payable to: Clerk of the Superior Court
- Applicants are also required to bring a $5.00 Money Order payable to: Pinal County Sheriff’s Department. This fee is for the Applicant to be fingerprinted. Please Note: money orders will only be accepted at Sheriff’s Department.

Order of Protection Forms/Packet

[+] Where do I file the Order of Protection Packet? |
- 971 Jason Lopez Circle, Bldg A, Florence AZ 85132
- You will need to come as early as possible, try to come no later than 2:00 pm. This will allow the Court enough time to process your request.
- PLEASE NOTE: The Court is trying to schedule in your Order of Protection within a Judges existing scheduled hearings. Processing an Order of Protection is at least a 2-3 hour process.

[+] Helpful Information when filing out your forms |
- Please make sure your forms are typed or filled out in BLACK INK ONLY.
- All documents must be legible.
- For all pleadings and other papers filed, other than printed forms, shall be clearly handwritten or typewritten on one side of the document.
- The body of all documents shall be double spaced and shall not exceed 28 lines per page, except for headings, quotations and footnotes which may be single spaced. Documents shall be on white, opaque, unglazed paper MEASURING 8 - ½ INCHES X 11 INCHES, with a top margin of 2 INCHES; a top margin of each subsequent page of not less than 1 - 1/2 inches; a left-hand margin of not less than 1 inch; a right-hand margin of not less than 1/2 inch; and a margin at the bottom of the page of not less than 1/2 inch.

[+] Helpful Information Prior to Submitting your Forms to the Court |
- The Order of Protection Forms must be submitted in our main office located at 971 Jason Lopez Circle, Bldg A, Florence AZ 85132. Protective Orders are not accepted at any of our Satellite Office Locations.
- When filing emergency documents in the Court please be prepared to wait, this is a lengthy process.
- The Court asks that you do not bring children, they are not allowed in the Courtroom.
- If you come later than 3:00 pm, the Court may not complete the processing of your emergency request, therefore you may need to return the next business day.
- You may have a hearing and appear before the Judge, no shorts or flip flops please dress appropriate.

Submitting your Application and Testing Process

- Applicant will arrive at scheduled appointment and check in at window (8). Applicant will submit all required documentation, photos and fees.
- Application, photos and fees will be processed by clerk at window. A case number will be assigned and file folder created.
- Clerk will then direct applicant to testing area and applicant will be allowed (90) minutes to complete the test.
- After testing is complete clerk will direct the Applicant to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department for the fingerprinting process. The Sheriff’s Department is located next to the Superior Court building and within walking distance.
- While the Applicant is being fingerprinted the clerk will grade applicants test. Test results will be provided to Applicant after returning from the Sheriff’s Department.
- Once returning from the Sheriff’s Department, the Applicant will turn in fingerprints to the Clerk. The Clerk will then inform Applicant of test score.
- If Applicant passed with a score of 85% or more, Clerk will then collect the Applicants signature on the provisional card and the (3) year appointment card.
- The Clerk will provide the Applicant with a Test Result Letter advising of their passing score and missed questions.
- The provisional card is not issued same day. The Order Approving Provisional License must be signed by a Judge prior to the card being issued. This is a 1-2 week process. Once the order is signed by the Judge the provisional card will be mailed to the Applicant.
- The Clerk will continue processing the Applicant’s case after they depart from the Clerks office. The Clerk will forward the Applicants fingerprints to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- Once the fingerprint results return from the Arizona Department of Public Safety the Clerk will forward the fingerprint results, applicant’s court file and Order Approving (3) Year License to the Judge for review.
- If the Order Approving (3) Year License is approved and signed by the Judge, the Clerk will contact the Applicant to pick up the (3) year license card.
- At the time the applicant picks up the (3) year license card, applicant is required to return the (90) day Provisional Card to the Clerk.

Issuance of Provisional License

- The provisional card is not issued same day. If the Applicant has passed the examination, the Order Approving Provisional License will be sent to the Judge for review. This is a 1-2 week process. The provisional card may not be issued until the Order Approving Provisional License is approved and signed by the Judge.
- Once the order is signed by the Judge the provisional card will be mailed to the Applicant.

Issuance of (3) Year License

- After the Applicant has completed and passed the examination, the Clerk will forward the Applicants fingerprints to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- Once the fingerprint results return from the Arizona Department of Public Safety the Clerk will forward the fingerprint results, Applicant’s court file and Order Approving (3) Year License to the Judge for review.
- If the Order Approving (3) Year License is approved and signed by the Judge, the Clerk will contact the Applicant to pick up the (3) year license card.
- At the time the applicant picks up the (3) year license card, applicant is required to return the (90) day Provisional Card to the Clerk.

Re-Examination (re-testing) for Private Process Server

- If the Applicant has failed the initial examination, the Clerk will provide the Applicant with the Test Result Letter. The Test Result Letter will advise the Applicant of their score and all questions missed.
- The Applicant may sit for one (1) re-examination. The Applicant may retake the examination within (90) days.
- The re-examination may not be taken the same day as the initial examination. The reexamination may be scheduled for a later date.
- The Applicant will be provided a different examination when re-testing.
- If the Applicant fails the re-examination, the Applicant shall wait (90) days from the date of the re-examination to submit a Request for Additional Re-Examination to the Judge.
