Supervisors Recognizes Planning and Development Director for Planning Award

FLORENCE – Pinal County Planning and Development Director Jerry Stabley has been recognized by the Board of Supervisors for being named the 2013 Arizona Distinguished Planning Professional. The award came from the American Planning Association, Arizona Chapter.

“I am deeply honored for this award,” Stabley said. “But it wouldn’t be possible without the support from the Supervisors and the team we have working in Planning and Development.”

Stabley was chosen for this honor largely for the work he has done in Pinal County. He managed the award winning County Comprehensive Plan that was adopted by the Board of Supervisors in November 2009. He also worked with his colleagues in Planning and Development along with the County Attorney’s office on a major update of the County Zoning Ordinance.

“I am pleased that we have employees like Jerry working here at Pinal County,” said Chairman Steve Miller. “He exhibits a vision that is proactive when it comes to emerging trends in rural and urban planning. My colleagues and I congratulate Jerry on this award.”
