Mounted Unit

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit consists of three certified officers and seven civilian mounted volunteers. Each person has their own horse and equipment. The duties that we perform are: Search and Rescue, parades, Crime Prevention activities for children, Color Guard, crowd and riot control and patrolling in communities in Pinal County. The Mounted Unit personnel must maintain excellent proficiency in riding skills and they must attend a Mounted Certification School of 80 hours of training to become a certified mounted rider for the program.
