Pinal County Search and Rescue (SAR)
The SAR Unit conducts day and night mobile Search and Rescue
operations, sometimes during adverse weather
conditions, in both urban and wilderness environments.
The SAR Unit searches for children, the elderly,
vehicles, lost hunters and downed aircraft. Deputies are
on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and at a
moment's notice to provide assistances in a crisis.
The SAR Unit specializes in rope rescue services (high and low-angle) and swiftwater

Search and Rescue Posse
The Pinal County
Search and Rescue (SAR) Posse, is a nonprofit, volunteer
organization that functions within the sheriff's
office. The Pinal County SAR Posse is a group of highly
trained rescuers that assist local, county, and state
agencies. The SAR Posse is highly qualified to locate
the lost, render aid, and to conduct technical rope
rescues over some of the roughest terrain.
The Pinal County SAR Posse consists of approximately 54
volunteers skilled in search and rescue operations in
mountain, canyon and urban settings. The Pinal County
SAR Posse operates with a highly trained canine team,
swiftwater team, and man tracking team.
