Public Housing

Pinal County owns 169 units of Public Housing located through out Pinal County: Maricopa, Eloy, Casa Grande, Eleven Mile Corner, Apache Junction, and Coolidge. The Public Housing units are managed and maintained by the Housing Department. Units include various bedroom sizes in single family homes and duplexes. Rent is based on 30% of the household’s income.

Eligibility

  • Must meet HUD’s income guidelines;
  • Complete and pass screenings: Rental History, Personal References, Criminal Background, and Sex Offender Check;
  • Provide Required Documentation: Proof of Citizenship or Eligible Immigration Status, Social Security Cards, Proof of income and assets, and other documentation as required.

Waiting List Status- Open for new applications

Applications for Public Housing are available in person at our office located 970 N Eleven Mile Corner Casa Grande AZ 85194. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applications are also available online to complete and to mail or fax to our office. See Forms for Waiting List Application. Maintenance

Pinal County Housing Department takes great pride in maintaining our units and surrounding building and grounds for the benefit of our clients and the neighborhoods where they are located. If a Public Housing resident should need any repairs please call 520-866-7220 to place a work order or email azucena.melendrez@pinalcountyaz.gov 

Resident Opportunity Self-Sufficiency (ROSS)

Public Housing residents are eligible to participate in the ROSS program. The purpose of the ROSS program is to promote self-sufficiency residents and their community by linking the resident to local resources to help meet their needs. Examples of self-sufficiency activities include but not limited to: GED, College, Financial Planning, Homeownership, Eviction prevention, etc.

Santa Cruz Village (SCV)

Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens owns 30 units in Eloy that are designated for Elderly, handicap, or disabled occupants. Units are managed and maintained by the Pinal County Housing Department. All 30 units are handicap accessible. These units are powered by solar panels and are energy efficient. Tenants are responsible for payment of rent and electric. Gas and water are included with their rent. Rent is based on 30% of the families’ gross income.
