Commissioner Biography

District 1 - Carl Wm. Vogler, Sr

Carl “Bill” Vogler joined the family business after serving four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His duties included not only managing but maintenance of equipment in the multi-faceted business. Lawson’s Landing is primarily a campground but also a boating-fishing resort with boat and motor sales and service. He became a charter boat skipper, a P.A.D.I. Divemaster and a private pilot during the nearly forty years of owner-manager duties. He was also a member of the Tomales Bay Advisory Committee and the Tomales Bay Watershed Council. Fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and working with desert finds to fashion art fill in his slack time.

Since retiring to Superior seven years ago, he has served as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the Town of Superior; he is head of the Superior Copper Alliance and is the steward of the LOST Trail, a Gateway trail for the Arizona Trail in Superior.

He and his wife and two dogs try to hike trails in the Copper Country every day and have logged nearly 800 miles each of the past three years.
