Commissioner Biography

District 4 - Gina D'Abella

Gina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from ASU. She is the Executive Director of Environmental Concerns Organization, Inc. (ECO), a 501(c)(3) non-profit that focuses its efforts on environmental stewardship and sustainable community development projects. As a result of her leadership, ECO has received over a dozen awards for outstanding contributions to environmental stewardship, including the twice-received Governor’s Pride and Keep Arizona Beautiful Awards. Through ECO, Gina has organized clean up events in Western Pinal County, clearing thousands of tons of household waste and tires from the Sonoran Desert. In addition to cleaning up tires and trash in areas such as a critically threatened riparian area, Gina has spent significant volunteer time assisting and collaborating with various groups, committees and task forces, advocating for conserving open space and public lands in Pinal County. Gina has been an active member of the Pinal Partnership Open Space & Trails Committee and the Western Region Leader for the Committee since 2011.

When she is not tossing tires from the desert floor to truck and trailer or facilitating the collaboration process; she enjoys picking up discarded broken glass while hiking with her dog Bond and designing Treasured Trash Wearable Art jewelry with the trashed treasures that she collects.
