Sustainable Pinal County
 

MISSION STATEMENT
The Sustainable Pinal program will draw upon the best that has already been done, coupled with
our citizens' ideas,  to develop a program that is financially sound and combines Environmental
Protection, Social Progress and Economic Development so that  future  generations  will  enjoy  healthy,  happy  and  productive  lives.

What is The Sustainable Pinal Program?
It became apparent through the recent Pinal County Comprehensive Plan update program the citizens believed Pinal County has the opportunity to become a leader in environmental stewardship. The Board of Supervisors has echoed this goal and resolved to create a program that involves citizens, stakeholders and representatives of all County Departments and Elected Offices to focus on improving the County’s sustainability.
 

Citizen Task Force
The Task Force will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters such as energy conservation, green electricity production, water conservation and heat island mitigation. It is comprised of three citizens from each District meeting for a maximum of 16 months.

The Task Force will consider the following in making their recommendations:

1.  Will it be effective?
2.  Is it tailored to Pinal County?
3.  Will it maximize benefits per tax dollar spent?
