On Monday, March 10th, 2014 at 12:45 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office - Narcotic Task Force with the assistance of the Coolidge Police Department served a search warrant on a residence in the 2900 block of East Picacho Drive, Casa Grande. During an investigation, detectives were able to develop probable cause to believe Henry Albert Marquardt (age 47) was dealing illegal drugs out of the residence.

As detectives were about to serve the warrant, Henry Marquardt was observed walking down the street and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of Marquardt revealed he was in possession of a gram of methamphetamines as well as an air soft pistol which was fabricated to look like a real handgun.

A subsequent search of the residence revealed several more modified air soft weapons and a real 38 caliber handgun. Several glass pipes, along with various other types of drug paraphernalia and numerous rounds of ammunition were located inside of the home. Detectives also located 13 unlabeled pill bottles containing an assortment of prescription drugs and additional methamphetamines inside the suspect’s bedroom.

The front door to his residence was screwed closed from the inside to prevent any entry into the home. Additionally he had a security camera mounted above his door.

Marquardt was booked into the Pinal County Jail for Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misconduct Involving a Weapon (prohibited possessor), and Fortifying a Structure with the Intent to Suppress Law Enforcement.

Additional charges are pending regarding the large quantity of prescription only medication which was found in the residence.

Marquardt is a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess any firearms. Since 2012 he has arrests in Pinal County for probation and parole violations, several drug offenses, unlawful flight, burglary, traffic offenses and numerous times he has been arrested for outstanding warrants.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “I want to thank Coolidge Police Chief Joe Brugman and his officers for the help with this investigation. Working together we were able to arrest Henry Marquardt and put him once again behind bars. He should feel comfortable behind bars since he has been put behind them so many times. While staying in our jail, he won’t have to worry about screwing shut his front door to keep people out as our doors are already secure.”
