SCHOOL ZONE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT IN SAN TAN VALLEY LEADS TO DRUG RELATED DUI ARRESTS AND 73 SPEEDING TICKETS

This morning Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with a joint taskforce, focused on traffic enforcement within San Tan Valley School Zones. The enforcement efforts were conducted between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. The results were concerning. Two people arrested for drug related DUIs and more than 70 people were cited for speeding within a school zone.

Today’s effort are a reminder to everyone to practice safe driving, especially when in a school zone. We want to thank our partners from DPS, Casa Grande Police Department and Maricopa Police Department for their help in keeping students safe.

Here are the results:

  • DUI: 2
  • DUI Drugs: 2
  • Citations total: 75
  • School Zone Speeding Tickets: 73
  • Accident: 1
  • Seatbelt: 3
  • Red Light Runners: 4
