79-YEAR OLD MAN DIES IN HOUSE FIRE

At 1:36 a.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a house fire located at the 1400 Block of E 25th Avenue in Apache Junction.

Mesa and Superstition fire both responded to the scene. A woman was able to make it out of the home, but crews were told a 79-year-old man was still inside. Unfortunately, despite efforts to rescue him, he did not make it out. He was pronounced dead on scene. Next of kin has been notified, but his identity will not be released at this time because of the ongoing investigation.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
