Supervisor Cheryl Chase took her oath of office in January 2013 as Pinal County District 2 Supervisor serving the Greater San Tan Valley region.  Prior to running for election, Chase served as Director of Community Relations at the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Chase has called Pinal County home for nearly 40 years and brings with her a long history of public and community service, having served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2001-2007.  Some of the critical issues facing her then remain issues today:  increasing funding for community medical care; funding for vitally important community college and secondary education; securing an increased share of state revenues for the benefit of fast-growing Pinal County and addressing transportation issues facing rural Arizona communities.

Chase has always been committed to balanced budgets and reducing the tax burden on local taxpayers.  In 2006, Chase supported and voted to reduce income and property taxes by $750 million, the largest tax cut in Arizona history.

After serving in the legislature, Chase remained active in the community, assisting with domestic violence prevention programs and shelters, chambers of commerce, schools and block watches across Pinal County.

Her first foray into elected office was serving as a member of the Ray School Board for eight years.

Priority issues for Chase that led her to run for election again include jobs and the economy, transportation and infrastructure needs and border security and public safety.

Prior to her career in elected or appointed public service, Chase worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), nursing instructor and emergency medical technician with the ASARCO Ray Mine as well as in hospital settings.  From 2007 to 2009, Chase was community liaison for Central Arizona College.
