Election Procedures for Districts

For jurisdictions (cities, towns, school and special taxing districts) looking to conduct an election in Pinal County, use the appropriate Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) below and contact the Elections Department as soon as possible at (520) 866-7557 or PCElections_DL@pinalcountyaz.gov.

120 days before Election - preferred deadline for finalizing IGAs April 30, 2018 July 9, 2018
Candidate filing period - 120 to 90 days before April 30, 2018 through May 30, 2018 July 9, 2018 through August 8, 2018
Post notice of Election - 90 days before May 30, 2018 August 8, 2018
Deadline to publicize request for “for” and “against” arguments - 90 days before May 30, 2018 August 8, 2018
Deadline to submit ballot language to Elections Department - 81 days before June 8, 2018 August 23, 2018
May file resolution to BOS to cancel election (number of candidates is equal to or lower than the number of open positions) - 75 days before June 14, 2018 August 23, 2018
Military/Overseas Voting begins - 45 days before. NO Changes to the ballot can be made after this date. July 14, 2018 September 22, 2018
Early Voting begins - 27 days before August 1, 2018 October 10, 2018
