PCSO Asking for Help from the Public to Locate “Investigative Lead” on Stolen Vehicle Cases

On Saturday, October 12th, 2013 the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was called by an individual who wanted to provide information related to a stolen vehicle. The reporting party said that she had heard through rumors on the street an individual by the name of Zepplin Anderson (age 42 of Casa Grande) was driving around in a stolen Dodge Ram truck.

PCSO Property Crime Detectives responded to the 27100 block of West Dreamy Way, Casa Grande to check the residence which past records showed Anderson lived at.

Once at the residence, detectives observed a truck partially covered with a tarp. The tarp was not covering the license plate. A quick check of the license plate revealed the Dodge Ram truck was a reported stolen vehicle. The truck was parked in the driveway of the home behind a chain link fence.

Detectives attempted to make contact with Anderson. When they knocked on the door, a female who was later identified as Selia Hernandez (age 30) answered. Hernandez said that she lives at the residence with Anderson but he was not home. She claimed she had never seen the vehicle in the driveway before. Hernandez was arrested for outstanding warrants from a prior criminal case after she didn’t show for a court hearing. She was booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and searched the backyard of the home. They recovered a second stolen vehicle which had been stripped of parts. The vehicle was a 1992 Chevy van. Records show the van had been previously reported stolen from a business in Stanfield.

The Dodge truck was processed for evidence and then returned to its owner. The owner said the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Maricopa.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “We are asking for help from the public to locate Zepplin Anderson who is considered an Investigative Lead in both stolen vehicle cases. If anyone has information regarding Anderson’s location, they are asked to call the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office at 520-866-5111. Anderson is 6’03” tall, weighs 190 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. He has prior arrests for drugs, theft, weapon offenses and parole violations.”
