Probation Programs

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

MRT- Moral Reconation Therapy® is a cognitive behavioral program developed in 1985 by Dr. Gregory Little and Dr. Kenneth Robinson, published outcome studies have documented that MRT- treated clients show significantly lower recidivism for period as long as 20 years after treatment. The term “moral” speaks to moral reasoning while the term “reconation” refers to the psychological terms “cognitive” and “conation” meaning the process of making conscious decision making. MRT is a cognitive-behavioral treatment system that leads to enhanced moral reasoning, better decision making, and increased pro-social behavior. Pinal County offers MRT groups for probationers in Apache Junction, Florence, and Casa Grande.
