Surrendering a Pet:

If you are needing to surrender a pet, please keep in mind the shelter is full and has an extended wait list for owner surrenders and appointments are REQUIRED. We highly encourage owners rehome their pets on their own and choose new owners for their pets. We have plenty of tips and advice to help you rehome your pet.

Pinal County only takes pets within Pinal County Jurisdiction. Our facility is run with a “Capacity of Care” protocol, meaning you must make an appointment to surrender your pet. PCACC has the right to refuse a pet without an appointment or when our shelter is at capacity. If the owner lives in a jurisdiction that has their own Animal Control Agency they must surrender their pet to that agency. We will not accept animals from outside our jurisdiction.

If your pet was adopted from a rescue or another shelter, you must reach out to the rescue or shelter and make them aware that you are no longer able to care for your pet. Most rescues REQUIRE their adopted animals go back to the rescue they were adopted from.

Surrender Fees:

Surrender-Owned-Unaltered $65.00 per animal
Surrender Owned-Proof of Alter (Must have documentation). Animals adopted from PCACC are full surrender fee in accordance with the signed adoption contract and not a $25.00 surrender fee.  This fee is only for animals not altered by PCACC.

NEW $25.00 per animal w/verification

Surrender Owned in Field $100.00
