The Building Safety Department provides inspection, plan review and investigative services to the unincorporated areas of the county and also to those cities that have entered into intergovernmental agreements (IGA) with the county to provide building code services. The department also provides plan review and inspection services for county construction projects.  

Effective January 21, 2020

Pinal County Development Services is enforcing the 2018 Building Codes and the 2017 National Electric Code.


Building plans submitted for review after the effective date that are not designed to the current adopted codes will require special approval by Building Safety during this transition.
