Audit Committee

The Pinal County Audit Committee serves to strengthen the independence, integrity and effectiveness of audit activities by providing independent oversight and support of the internal audit work plan and assessing audit resource needs. The committee also helps ensure audit results are adequately communicated and that recommended improvements or corrective actions are addressed appropriately. Committee members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Members

Brenda Hasler (Maricopa) - Chair

Ms. Hasler serves as the Financial Manager for the City of Maricopa, Arizona and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to this position, she was Senior Accountant for the City of Chandler for 5 1/2 years. She has 15 years of audit experience with the Arizona Office of the Auditor General. Attended Southern Oregon State College where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech.

Matt Busby (Apache Junction) - Vice-Chair

Mr. Busby currently serves as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Apache Junction, Arizona. He has been with the city for almost 10 years. In this role he oversees the day-to-day operations of the city, including oversight of the annual budget process and the finance department. Prior to working for the city, he was a staff member of the Arizona State Legislature’s Joint Legislative Budget Committee. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Arizona. Mr. Busby was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and is a 5th generation Arizonan. He currently resides in Apache Junction with his wife and two children.

Todd Pryor (Superior)

Mr. Pryor currently serves as the Town Manager for the Town of Superior since January 2016. As the Town Manager, Mr. Pryor is accountable for overseeing day-to-day operations of the town; including planning, prioritizing, budgeting and problem solving. Prior to holding this position, Mr. Pryor held the position of Fire Operations Chief for the Superior Fire Department.

Rebecca Jimenez (Florence)

Ms. Jimenez served as Finance Director for the Town of Florence from October 1997 to June 2013. After retirement, she served 4 years as a Florence Town Council member until October 17, 2018. She returned to employment with the Town of Florence as a Budget Analyst in November 2018 and was appointed Finance Director in October 2019. She oversees the Town’s Finance Department, budgets, audits, and the Community Faculties Districts. Past experiences include financial work in hospital, farm operations and other private sector businesses. She was born in Florence, Arizona, raised in Blythe, California, and returned to Florence in 1993 where she currently resides in “old town” Florence.

Angele A. Ozoemelam (Casa Grande)

Ms. Ozoemelam serves as the Finance Director for the City of Casa Grande. Prior to this assignment she served as the Financial Services Manager for the City of Maricopa. Ms. Ozoemelam also serves as a Budget Reviewer for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). Ms. Ozoemelam is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with Latin honors and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She has over 30 years of budgeting, auditing and accounting experience and has held executive level positions in government and higher education.
