Expedited Differentiated Case Management (EDCM)
What is Expedited Differential Case Management? EDCM is a non-confidential service that may be automatically set in your case if it meets certain criteria, or the Judge may order this service. During your meeting with Family Services of the Conciliation Court, a screening will be conducted to identify any areas of concern and make recommendations to the Court. If appropriate, same day mediation may be conducted. If you and the other party reach an agreement, it will be prepared for you in writing and submitted to the court for approval. If there are additional concerns in your case, information from the screening session will be summarized for the Court, recommendations may be made and you may have a hearing to address issues or be scheduled for further services.

What if I am represented by an Attorney? |
Your attorney will not attend the EDCM screening session at FSCC. If an agreement is reached, the paperwork will be sent to your attorney for review and signature. If no agreement is reached or if recommendations are made in your case, you will have a hearing between 2 and 5 p.m. the same day as your EDCM session and your attorney will be expected to appear telephonically or in-person if your case needs a same-day hearing. Your attorney may be present at FSCC and wait in the waiting room if he/she so chooses during the EDCM session. |
Are children allowed to come to the EDCM session? |
No. The evaluator will meet with the parents and provide a summary, please do NOT bring children to the appointment. |
What if I want my child to be interviewed by FSCC staff? |
Please bring up your concerns during your EDCM session and if the evaluator deems that a child interview is necessary he/she will schedule another appointment on a different date to meet with the child. |
What if there is an Order of Protection and we cannot be in the same building? |
FSCC is a Court department and we have security in place. Both parties are required to appear as they do in a Court proceeding. Separate waiting areas are available and we have security onsite. |
