Justice Courts Redistricting

On July 12, 2017 the County Board of Supervisors signed Resolution No. 071217-JPB which initiated the redistricting of the Pinal County Justice Precincts to be effective January 1, 2019.

A diverse committee was established by Presiding Judge, Stephan f. McCarville on September 21, 2017. This committee’s purpose was to review and consider the following areas, in addition to topics and/or issues as deemed appropriate by Chair:

  • Facility needs and/or improvements;
  • Coordination of all judicial administrative issues;
  • Coordination of all staffing and human resources issues

On December 18, 2017 the committee provided recommendations regarding satellite court operations (hours and duties) and court facility improvements for new court locations/buildings. Additionally, the committee recommended an expansion for the position of Senior Court Clerk from two positions to eight.

The Board of Supervisors approved these recommendations on March, 21, 2018.

The New Justice of the Peace Precinct names are:

JP Precinct #1 – The Pioneer Justice Court located in San Tan Valley Az.

JP Precinct#2 – The Casa Grande Justice Court located in Casa Grande AZ.

JP Precinct #3 – Central Pinal Justice Court (Serving Florence, Coolidge, and Eloy) with two locations

  • Main Courthouse in Coolidge (June 2019)
  • Satellite in Eloy

JP Precinct #4 – Western Pinal Justice Court (Serving Maricopa), located in Maricopa AZ.

JP Precinct #5 – Copper Corridor Justice Court (Serving Superior, Oracle, and Mammoth) with two locations

  • Main Courthouse in Superior (March 2019)
  • Satellite in Oracle

JP Precinct #6 – Apache Junction Justice Court located in Apache Junction
