Pinal County Board of Supervisors Decide Against Mandating Mask in Pinal County
Date: 6/24/2020

The Board of Supervisors has today voted to highly encourage the wearing of face-coverings in Pinal County but will not mandate masks.

The Board voted unanimously, though District One Supervisor Pete Rios made it clear as he voted that his preference was for a mandate.

The resolution (below) does not impact decisions made by Pinal County cities and towns since the Board chose to vote only on unincorporated Pinal County.

Chairman of the Board Anthony Smith commented, "The health, safety, and welfare of our citizens are our primary concerns. I encourage all residents and visitors to Pinal County to wear a face mask when in public.

With this added precaution, businesses should remain open, and the spread of the COVID-19 virus will be contained."
