Pinal County Completes Construction of Dudleyville Community Center Flood Mitigation Project
Date: 7/17/2020
Pinal County recently completed the construction of its long-awaited Dudleyville Community Center Flood Mitigation project. The project primarily consisted of constructing a new 1,050ft channel behind the existing fire station and installing a new all-weather access culvert at Dudleyville Road. The preliminary planning for the project began in 2014. The Flood Control District was assigned to find a resolution to ongoing issues of flood problems at the community center and nearby first station. After years of planning, design, and permitting, Pinal County was able to apply for an Arizona State Emergency Council Grant to assist with funding. Thankfully the project was awarded a grant to fund 75% of the construction cost valued at more than $330,000. The total cost of the project, including design and construction administration, was approximately $508,000.
