County Launch Gold Canyon Community Plan Study in Partnership with ASU and GCCI
Date: 9/10/2021

According to the most recent Census data, Gold Canyon's population has reached 11,404, almost doubling over the past twenty years! Meanwhile, over the same period, much of Gold Canyon's infrastructure has remained untouched.

So what should the future of Gold Canyon look like?

Pinal County is partnering with Arizona State University and Gold Canyon Community, Inc. (GCCI) to develop a Gold Canyon Community Plan!

We need your Help!

The first stage of planning will include a community-wide survey. This survey has been developed with input from local community groups, the Gold Canyon Business Association, Gold Canyon citizens, and ASU.

The Gold Canyon survey will be launched in October.

The survey results will be integrated into an ASU School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning case study as part of the Urban Land-use Planning course led by faculties from the ASU Knowledge Exchange for Resilience. ASU's in-depth study will result in the Gold Canyon Community Plan.

This Gold Canyon Community Plan will align with the input of community stakeholders' (Gold Canyon residents and businesses). The plan will include important elements and a vision to help shape the future of Gold Canyon.

The success of the Gold Canyon Community Plan relies on strong and active community involvement throughout the process.

There will be a community meeting in early October to launch the survey and to explain the process going forward. This will be the first in a series of community meetings as the Gold Canyon Community Plan develops.
