Pinal County is in the process of updating its Drainage Ordinance which has been in effect since 1998. The County's intent is to create a functional Drainage Ordinance that:
- Reflects the desired County balance between the promulgation of practical, modern-day drainage regulations that are also complimentary to economic develop initiatives
- Enhances County property values
- Reduces County and property owner mitigation costs
- Yields greater continuity and efficiency in the administration of the Drainage Ordinance in the County's development review process
Current Drainage Ordinance
On May 10th, 2017 the Pinal County Board of Supervisors received a presentation on the draft Drainage Ordinance update process moving forward. The next step in the Drainage Ordinance updates process is to form an External Stakeholder Committee to garner broader input from end users and to ensure consistency in direction with County desires and practices. Key stakeholders have been notified via email and have received a personal invitation to the meeting.
The first external stakeholder committee meeting was held on June 29th, 2017. We are currently accepting comments on the draft ordinance and are planning a second committee meeting in mid to late August.
