Pinal County Co-Responder Team
The Pinal County Co-Responder Team, a mobile crisis Team, is a team consisting of a Deputy with specialized mental health training and a mental health technician.
Our Vision is to assist community members during times of crisis, whether mental health or substance in nature; in an attempt to minimize unnecessary incarceration and to help produce a more positive outcome.
The CRT is specifically designed to provide community members with crisis intervention; as well as, providing our residents with options when seeking community service providers who can effectively support in immediate crisis reduction and help ensure a safer outcome.
Working as a co-responder team, a specially trained officer and a mental health crisis worker respond together to mental health calls for service. By drawing upon combined expertise of the officer and mental health professional, the team is able to link people with mental illnesses to appropriate services or provide other effective and efficient responses.
The program brings in a mental health professional to accompany officers on calls that involve potential mental health issues with a goal to provide individuals quicker access to mental health services and keep them out of jail and local emergency rooms.
