GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY ISSUES GRANT MONEY TO PCSO Posted: 12/7/2018 12:00 AM | The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a total of $236,000 in grant funding by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to help PCSO keep county roads safe. The money will go to assist deputies in their speed and DUI enforcement efforts. While a majority of the funds will go to pay for overtime during our speed enforcement operations and yearly and holiday DUI task force details, $46,000 was given to our traffic unit to purchase a new Dodge Charger.
This funding, provided by the Arizona Governor’s Office of the Highway Safety, enables PCSO to stay committed to making sure people follow the speed limit and are not driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, ultimately making our roads safer.
“Our deputies have seen too many lives cut short due to speeding or drinking and driving, which is why they are so proactive in their enforcement efforts,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “We would not be able to do what we do without the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.” | |
