NEW GRANT-FUNDED EQUIPMENT MAKING PCSO TRAFFIC STOPS MORE EFFICIENT Posted: 10/15/2020 12:00 AM | Thanks to a new system called the Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS), Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies are now able to conduct traffic stops more quickly and safely.
The program allows deputies to instantly scan driver licenses and vehicle registration forms, rather than manually entering the information. It also allows law enforcement agencies across Arizona to collect and transmit ADOT crash reports instantly from the field.
This significant upgrade was made possible by a generous $69,225.00 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS.)
To date, 50 PCSO patrol vehicles have been outfitted with the new scanners and on-board printers.
“This system allows our deputies to spend less time entering data manually, and more time patrolling and keeping our county safe,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “We are grateful for the GOHS and their continued support.” | |
